Dora’s Dreams is symbolic of an old person with dementia. If one looks carefully there are sticks that look like knitting needles because that is what Dora managed to do up until the dementia set in. There is a postage stamp from the UK as she was born there and had childhood memories. If is on two canvasses as her right and left hemispheres of her brain have both been affected and disconnected. The colours are the jumbled thoughts and the fact that she cannot remember exact things or communicate any longer. Her words and thoughts have become scattered.
