This painting is of a bunch of tulips. Flowers display their beauty only fleetingly. Here today and gone tomorrow. The tight buds are full of promise and the soft curling leaves embrace their fragile stems. Tomorrow they will be in full bloom. Capturing the temporal nature of beauty is somehow compulsive.
I am an architect by profession but have always been an artist by inclination. I work in oils, pastels, ink and charcoal. I am now able to spend more time on my artistic pursuits painting for my own pleasure as well as the occasional commission.
