AJ Burns (1985S) is a full time, award-winning professional artist based in Cape Town. He is represented in 15 selected galleries across South Africa and 2 in the UK.

His work is unique in that he blows the paint (using only my mouth) to create all of his paintings. He does not use any tools of any sort (no straws, brushes or any other equipment). The only thing that touches the canvas is his breath and the paint.

“Contemplation” combines AJ's unique painting blowing technique with white fish (circling an oil painting of a woman deep in contemplation) and a black water surface - further enhancing the mood of the painting.

He is most well known for this fish paintings that are abstracted as if viewed through the water surface and are full of movement and texture.
